The annual late-summer local tennis tournament, which was first held in 1960 and was sponsored by the Lexington Rotary Club, will celebrate its 50th anniversary as the Rockbridge Tennis Association sponsors the 51st annual renewal of the net event on the last two weeks of August at the Washington and Lee University hard courts.

New Market jumped out to a 5-0 lead after four innings, going on to win 8-3 at Rockbridge on Tuesday of last week.
